Throughout his career, he has held a variety of positions within different teams, showcasing his versatility and expertise in the field of education. With a commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs, he has generously given his time to serve on the advisory board for Lumen Academy.

Sabir Afzal

Sabir Afzal is a seasoned educator who has dedicated nearly two decades to teaching Science. His experience spans across various positions within different teams, showcasing his versatility and expertise in the field of education. Currently serving as a Senior Leader in a mainstream school, Sabir brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role of being an Advisory member for Lumen Academy.

Throughout his career, Sabir has worked in a diverse range of educational settings, from special educational needs (SEN) sectors to pupil referral units (PRUs), inner city schools, and village schools. This extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the diverse needs of students and the ability to tailor his teaching to meet those needs effectively.

Sabir is deeply passionate about educating children with various needs and is committed to ensuring that every child is successful, regardless of their individual requirements. He believes in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

In addition to his role as an Senior Leader, Sabir is actively involved in supporting staff and students across schools. His dedication to personal development is evident in his completion of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), which has further enhanced his leadership skills and prepared him for senior leadership roles in the future.
